The SIUST is a private university that was founded in 2005 by a number of Academics, Arab, Syrian and foreign Business men. It is located on the road between Damascus and Daraa, at about 25 kilometres from Damascus. The university offers Bachelor degrees. SIUST is a growing institution and will graduate its first Medical students in the summer of 2011.

The SIUST Medical School reward The Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree for medical dents who successfully complete the 12 Semester-6 years subject-based programme, it's worth to mention that medical students must first pass the Syrian National Medical Exam before they can be rewarded thir degrees.

Accreditation

The Syrian International University for Science & Technology's private institution of higher education systems and school plans are approved and certified by the Ministry of Higher Education in the Syrian Arab Republic as it applies to the diplomas of students and thus qualifies the university's local distinction. The University continues its efforts to expand its conventions to include a larger number of foreign universities adhering to high principals.

Sports in SIUST

The university lunches many sports including Tennis, Soccer, and Basketball. Tennis being the most active and organised one, SIUST Tennis finests run an audition every year to pick new players for the team. The tennis team has a great renown in the campus and among other universities ,the tennis players representing the university for the last 3 years till now are:

There's also an annual league for soccer and basketball in which the faculties teams compete for the university's cup. The teams also compete with other local universities.
